Village Library

The library at Logan Brae is open for borrowing books to the public from 10am until 3pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

There is a wide variety of books, magazines and audio/visual material in the collection. We have books on nature, the world, climate  change, permaculture, cooking, gardening spirituality, religion, women's history, aboriginal history, biographies, autobiographies, philosophy, mythology, arts, crafts and fiction of all kinds.

Our goal is to create a friendly and enjoyable environment for people who love books.

Book Club

We would like to start an open and inclusive book club, reading a broad range of books including those we have always wanted to read along with those we would like to revisit.

How often we meet and how we determine what books to read will be decided democratically, but our idea would be each person putting in a number of suggestions in a hat, including one they would never actually choose to read in a million years, then simply draw one each time.

This is our initial idea but it is open to change with the group driving the process. The book club is about meeting like-minded people, enrichment and fun.

As soon as we have three people willing to start the details can be arranged to begin.

Writers Group

If you are interested in writing, come along and join what will be an enjoyable and positive environment to learn.

It doesn't matter if you have written forty novels or never picked up a pen; all are welcome of all ages.

No one can tell you what the secret is, because even really successful writers each a different answer, and one size doesn't fit all. What almost all writers say is they write because they love it and would do so for free. They all agree that the best way to learn is by writing hundreds of pages of bad stuff until it start getting better.

Lets have some fun!
